• Thoughts From On Top of The Roof

Hi there, I wanted to write a little introduction about our company; who we are so you could get to know us a little better.
The usual stuff like how long we have been in business didn't seem to get across what I wanted.
So I wrote some notes down about some different topics that we feel are important. I hope you enjoy!

    Sincerely,
    Dan Systo

PS. Walker Roofing has been taking care of homes and buildings in Vermont Massachusetts and New Hampshire since 1996.

    On Craftsmanship:

We say: “This will be the last roof you will ever need.”

    And we aren’t joking.

As builders, our craftsmanship is our identity. It is how we think of ourselves.

I realize that you might not be all that interested in galvanic action between incompatible metals, but we are.

We know that we will be driving by your home pointing it out to our families saying: “I did that.”

And if there is rust and holes starting to form in the flashing because the copper flashing was used with aluminum roofing- well, I am not going to be happy.

Our craft is our way of life and we like it that way.

On Time and Being On It:

We work as a team to get your project done. We also are working in the New England weather.

We start our day at 6:30 am at the shop and then we head out to your project. We work until 4 pm and then wrap up the job site and head home. We take a morning break and a lunch at midday.

When it comes to the project schedule, we are working as swiftly as safely possible. For one thing, no work gets done when one of us gets hurt.

We need to work as well oiled teams to get everything done, so promptness is very important to us. If you are 5 minutes early then you are 10 minutes late!

If you have special requirements where we need to adjust the daily schedule, we can make all the arrangements while we are setting up the project. It’s no problem, we just like to have this stuff figured out before hand.

    On Using the Right Materials:

There are only a few different types of material that your home will have as choices.
There are metals, slate, rubber sheeting, asphalt shingles, and ceramic.

The right material choice is a process of figuring out your goals for your roof.
“How long you want this roof to last?”

“What is the roof going to covering?”
“What is the slope of the roof?”

“What do you want it to look like?”
And: “What is your financial plan for accomplishing the project?”

I know there is a lot in there to figure out.
That is one of the reason’s that we will meet with you to discuss all of these options.

    On Trust and Accountability:

I grew up in southern Vermont and this is the state that very recently got more people than cows.

Which means: to do business in Vermont and western Massachusetts, you treat everyone as a great neighbor because everyone knows everyone!.

When it comes to doing our job, we only know one way - the very best that we can do.

We know that we are going to see you in the community and we know that we want you to tell all your friends about our services. And we want that story to be a good one!

Thanks again and I wanted to remind you to get your free copy of our special report on metal roofs and what you need to know about them. You can get it by clicking on the image of the book over on the right side of the page.

I look forward to seeing you around at the Guilford Fair!

    Sincerely,
Dan Systo and the Walker and Company Crew
